(The 2nd People's HosDltal. Lalwu City. Shandonp Province)

60 case of blood hyperviscosity were treated with oral administration of MEBO in capusules. 60 cases of the sable disease treated with oral administration of Compound Tablet of Red Sage and 60 healthy volunteers served as control groups. Microscopic examinations of the chances concerning the blood circulation promoting and stasis removing effects of MEBO were made. Which included the examination of blood rheology, nail fold mircrocirculation, facial tachogram and tongue tip microcirculation. A comparison of the results between the three groups revealed that MEBO has remakable effect of improving microcirCulation and regulating blood rheological property and proved that MEBO does have blood circulation promoting and stasis removing effects. These results provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of MEBO.

    Mice Skin After Burn

    (Abstract)

    Lu Xuemel Zhang Shuhua

(People's Hospital, Liaocheng Prefecture, Shandong Province)

The purpose of this research is to illustrate the mechanism of the scar softening effect of MESO Scar Lotion. 40 healthy mice were depilated on the back and were burned by 2 mol/liter caustic soda for one minute, and deep second degree burn wounds were resulted. Scars formed one week post burn. The burned mice were divided in random into two gruops. Mice in the first group did not receive any treatment, whife those in the second gtuop were treated with MEBO Scar Lotion. After two weeks of treatment, the mice were sacrificed. The skin in the bUrned area were stained using HE aam improved Masson stain and examined. The results revealed that in the first group, the animals had epithelial proliferation, keratinization, collagenous fibre proliferation and arrangement disorder. Muscular tissue was invaded. There were a large amount of inflammatory cell infiltration. In the second group, the results of pathological tissue examinations were nearly the same as the normal skin.

Conclusion: MEBO Scar Lotion has the eff6cts of inhibiting the inflammatory reaction, improving blood supply to the tissue and inhibiting proliferation of epithelial tissue and collagenous fiber. Therefore, it prevents skin scar formation and promotes the repair of epithelial tissue.

(Dept. of Burns, Southwestern Hospital, The 3rd University of Military Medicine)

Acute gastric mucosal lesion often happens in the critical coditions such as severe trauma, burn, shock, infections and severe injury of visceral function. The incidence of acute stress mythological changes characterized by gastric mucosal erosion, ulcer and hemorrhage may reach 80,to 100% in patients with severe burn, trauma and infections. It is one of the moat commonly happened complications post trauma.

If massive hemorrhage occurred, it will be very difficult to treat and the mortality is very high. Such severe disease is life--threatening. In recent years, a large amount of clinical and experimental research has been carrird out but the mechanism of the pathogenesis of acute gastric mucosal lesion is still not clear. This paper is a review of the literaure in this field. It will be helpful to further research on the treatment and prevention of acute gastric mucosal lesion.

(Debt. of Burns and Plastic Surgery,Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Medical College)

144 cases of medium and small area burn were treated with MEBT. The patients aged from 2 months to 69 years. The largest burn, area was 34.5% and the smallest 2. 5% with an average of 15. 5%. 6 patients were subjected to skin grafting at the later stage. All the burn woUnds healed, The authors pointed out that MEBT has good analgesic eff6ct. It is very easy and simple to apply and i$yery safe. The cost is not high. MEBT has the characteristic effect of removing the necrotic tissue, as it liquefies, from the wound spantaneously and continually from superficial to interior, without damaging the wound, before the immuno rejection reaction occurs. and at the same time, it keeps a constant supply of the drug and an adequate drainage in the wounds.

An outpatient with severe left shank burn complicated by tetanus infection twas treated with MEBO 2 months post burn. At the later stage of the treatment, unexpectedly, the necrotic cortical layer of tibia in the burn shank exfoliated spontaneously from the normal bone tissue. Under the necrotic sclerite, the granulation wound was fresh and smooth without bleedinl The wound healed after continuous appllaction MEBO. The author concluded that the spontaneous separatioin of necrotic bone from normal bone tissu without causing any injury is due to the effect MEBO.
