The number of the cutaneous nerve branches in the baby skin and the characteristics of their distribution and morphology were studied by means of S-100 protein that the number of the cutaneous nerve bracches in the skin of baby thenar is about 109 per 0.5 cm2. This number is significantly larger than in other parts of the body. There are no significant difference in the number of the cutaneous nerve braches between the neck, shoulder, back, cheek and the anterior part of knee joint.

Most of the cutaneous nerve endings locate near to the vascular balls of the papillary layer and subpapillary layer of the dermis and around the swweat glands. This work provides new morphological data for studying the disease and damage of human skin.

(The 2nd Peoples hospital , laiwu city, Shandong Province)

The paper reports the study of local and sysytemic immunplogical reaction of 120 cases of burn ,especially the results of 60 cases treated with MEBO. Changes in local and systemic IgA, IgG,IgM producing cell and C3 were minitored. The results revealed that:

    1. The staining strength of immune factor in burn site is significantly higher than that in non-burn site and in healthy people .(P<0.01).

    2. The depth and the area of burn have a positive correlation with the local immune factor staining strength .The deeper and the larger the burn wound, the higher the staining strength of the local immune factor and the higher the immunity. (P<0.05).

3.MEBO shortened the healing period of patients with different degrees of burn. Compared with non-MEBO control. The difference is significant. (P<0.01). MEBO has healing promoting effect.

4.Patients treated with MEBO had their local immune factor staining strengthh higher than those treated with non-MEBO method.(P<0.05).

5.Patients treated with MEBO had their peripheral blood and serum immunoglobulin higher than before MEBO treatment and also higher than those treated with non-MEBO method. (P<0.05).MEBO significantly promoted immunity .

6.Local infecton rate of the paitents treated with MEBO was significantly lower than that of those treated woth non-MEBO method. (P<0.05).MEBO had antiinfective effect .

The relation between the changes in local and systemic immunity and the depth and the area of burn is also investigated .
